YOUNGSTERS from Trafford Prince’s Trust saw first-hand what firefighters do when they deal with a serious road traffic collision.
The group took part in a demonstration at Altrincham Fire Station on November 21, where Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service (GMFRS) crews showed them how they cut someone out of a car.
The group was also shown all the equipment used and tried their hand at stabilising the car, while others acted as casualties are were released from the vehicle on a spine board.
The Prince’s Trust scheme is a 12-week programme that gives unemployed young people aged 16 to 25 the chance to build confidence and motivation while working towards qualifications and taking part in exciting community projects and team building activities.
