HALE and Alderley Edge have been chosen as the locations for a new thriller novel.
‘The Cheshire Sect’ has been co-written by Dan Smith and Frazer Fearnhead who are both authors from Cheshire.
It tells the story of lead-character Sebastian who meets a disturbed young woman and later discovers that she has been attacked by a satanic group deep in the woods of Alderley Edge.
Dan and Frazer explained that Sebastian is “more Sherlock Holmes than Jack Reacher” and said: “As well as being a real page-turner, the book pokes fun at the world behind the fake tans, white Bentleys and onyx bathrooms of Cheshire.”
The book, which has been described as a ‘comedy thriller,’ was released last month.
For the launch of the novel on Halloween night, The Wizards Pub in Alderley Edge was chosen which Dan and Frazer described as ‘the perfect location’.
