A PARTNERSHIP between Trafford Council and the company Amey was officially launched on July 6, signalling the start of a long-term relationship between the two organisations.

Trafford Council’s leader and chief executive were joined by Amey’s local government managing director Nick Gregg and highways staff, to officially launch ‘One Trafford’ – the new name for the Council and Amey’s partnership at Ryebank Road, Firswood.

This milestone concludes over 18-months of a procurement exercise which saw the council tender a large number of its operational frontline services and appoint Amey as the overall winning bidder.

Leader of the ouncil, Cllr Sean Anstee, said: “It has taken a lot of hard work to get to this point and to make sure the contract was right for Trafford and I am pleased that this new partnership is now in operation."

The team of staff, who have moved across from the Council to Amey, will be out and about in new ‘One Trafford’ branded vehicles and uniforms.

The ‘One Trafford’ team includes street cleaning, grounds maintenance, highways services, bridges, traffic and transportation, road safety, street lighting and furniture, drainage, the let estate, corporate landlord services, capital development team, major projects team and commercial and domestic waste.
