THE Altrincham Electric Railway Preservation Society (AERPS) is running a coach trip to the Llangollen Railway (including the new extension to Corwen) and the town of Llangollen and its canal on June 13.

The coach starts from outside the main entrance of Stockport station at 7.30am and then picks up passengers at Sale, Altrincham,Knutsford and Northwich.

Arrival in Llangollen will be in good time for the 10.40 steam train to Corwen East.

Everyone going on the trip will be issued with a Day Rover ticket for the railway giving unlimited travel for the day.

Passengers who return from Corwen straight away you will arrive back into Llangollen at 12.20 allowing time for lunch before perhaps sampling a trip on one of the horse-drawn boats on the Llangollen canal.

Otherwise there will be time in Corwen to visit a newly-opened railway museum in the town or alight at Carrog for the cafe on the platform or the hospitality of the nearby Grouse Inn.
