THE 3rd Davyhulme (Lostock) Scout and Guide Band passed its ‘annual review’ with flying colours.
The inspection - carried out to see if the band is good enough to play in public - was the first one under the band’s new bandmaster, Ashleigh Gilpin, who took over at the start of 2014.
The band gained one of the top rankings - putting it up with the best in the country.
It was the first time in a few years that the band has been inspected by Paul Wong, the national adviser for scout bands.
The event took the form of a marching display followed by concerts from both the senior and junior Bands, and a number of solos.
