GOOSE Green Summer Festival is back.

Altrincham BID has teamed up with the Goose Green Traders Federation and Trafford Sound radio station to bring a second fun-filled summer festival to the culture quarter next month.

After attracting hundreds of visitors in its inaugural 2015 event, the free festival will return to the streets of Altrincham on Sunday August 28, with live music and family entertainment from 2-8pm.

Local acts include Jordan Drinkwater and Liam McClair, plus up-and-coming Manchester bands Blank Cheque, Casual Agenda and Prose. Goose Green favourites, The Henry Revue and The Jailbirds, will also be back by popular demand, having wowed the crowds at last year’s festival.

There will be plenty going on for children too, with a treasure hunt, face-painting, giant games and a children’s entertainer talking to the stage in the middle of the afternoon. Street food will be available throughout the day from Café Cleo, while Traders Tiki Bar, The Green Room, Costello’s, La Piazza and House Restaurant & Bar will all be open for alfresco food and drink.

Katie Bland, Manager of Altrincham BID, said: “The Goose Green Summer Festival will be the first event organised and supported by Altrincham Business Improvement District following its launch in April. We’re looking forward to putting on a fantastic day of free music and entertainment for the local community, and attracting plenty of visitors to Altrincham over the August bank holiday weekend.”

Goose Green Traders Federation said they are ‘delighted’ to be working with Altrincham BID.

Mark Rubin, chair of the Goose Green Traders Federation said: “This year’s festival will be bigger and better again, and all our businesses are looking forward to the opportunity to showcase Goose Green as one of the jewels in Altrincham’s crown.”

Trafford Sound will be leading the musical entertainment.

Jon Belfield, director and presenter at Trafford Sound, said: “Through our Live and Local show, we’ve got to know some of the best musical talent in the North West, and we can’t wait to see them perform live at the Goose Green Summer Festival. There will be a real mix of styles from acoustic to reggae to pop and rock – Altrincham is in for a real treat.”
