Kate Green asks constituents to join organ register

STRETFORD and Urmston MP, Kate Green, is calling on Trafford residents to join the NHS Organ Donor Register and to discuss their wishes with their families.


The call comes in response to statistics which revealed only 27 per cent of people in the North West are signed up to the Organ Donor register, which is below the UK average.


Ms Green said: “Almost everyone would accept an organ transplant if they needed one, yet in the North West nearly three quarters of people still haven’t joined the register.


Signing up only takes a few minutes, and can be done online at organdonation.nhs.uk or on the phone by calling 0300 123 23 23.”
