TRAFFORD Park firm Bearfaced Groceries has teamed up with Weight Watchers to launch a new initiative.

WW Smart Kitchen is an innovative meal plan solution offering fresh food and locally sourced produce, delivered directly to the customers’ door. Accompanied by simple, step-by-step recipe cards and instructions, the company says customers can create healthy, delicious and balanced meals in their own home.

Launched in January, the recipes have been developed by Weight Watchers and specialist chefs.

Fresh Grocery Direct, the owners of the Bearfaced Groceries brand, have put together a top marketing and sourcing team to provide the freshest ingredients possible.

MD Phil Edge launched Bearfaced Groceries in 2015 to deliver directly to the consumers’ door. The company has grown rapidly, building a strong customer base and gaining an excellent reputation within the online food retail industry.

Mr Edge said: “This is an exciting proof of concept for Bearfaced and we are delighted to be teaming up with one of the biggest brand names in weight management to launch this offering. By combining our resources with Weight Watchers, together we will deliver a whole new approach to healthy eating.

"We are the first to bring a brand into this exciting marketplace and with our unique turnkey solution, website build, sourcing and delivery, we expect this to be the first project of many with brands who would like to make a fresh food offering directly to their customers and fans.

"We anticipate an extremely positive nationwide response and a continuation of the strong growth of the business."

Steph Williams, Weight Watchers Recipe Development Nutritionist, said: “Each WW Smart Kitchen box is packed full of the freshest and finest ingredients complete with recipes created by our specialist chefs, so now everyone can whip up high quality, healthy dishes for the whole family in the comfort of their own home."

The cook-from-scratch, meal plan solution is suitable for any level of culinary skill as the recipe cards are straight forward and guide the customer step by step.

Using a buy-to-order approach, stock is as fresh as it can possibly be and leaves for the customer on the day it arrives from the producer.
