EMIRATES Old Trafford continues to go from strength to strength and has hit £3.7m in revenue, making it a record-breaking year for conferencing and events at the venue.

Trafford’s award-winning, multi-purpose venue can cater from 10 to 2,000. Testament to its reputation is the fact it hosted a huge number of major events such as The X-Factor auditions, the Co-Op Bank’s Charity Dinner, TheStadiumBusiness Design and Development Summit and Channel 5’s ‘The Wright Stuff’, along with world-famous artists Rihanna and Beyoncé with more than 80,000 in attendance over both nights.

Emirates Old Trafford also delivered its most successful Christmas to date with a record 30 party nights during December 2016 and saw a 33 per cent increase from 2015 in private parties held in both the Pavilion and The Point, with the revenue for private parties seeing a 47 per cent increase.

Angela Hodson, head of conference and events said, “2016 was a fantastic year for the venue and we’re attracting some major brands such as AA, eBay, Morrison’s and Taylor Wimpey.

"Not only did our conference and events business hit a record £3.7m in revenue, but we also enjoyed the added success of our Christmas parties. Overall, year on year, Emirates Old Trafford’s Christmas parties had a 14 per cent increase in the number of parties held during December and a 24 per cent increase in total covers.”

The new Emirates Old Trafford Hilton Garden Inn located at the venue opens its doors this summer and will help serve the huge numbers of both business and leisure visitors.

The accommodation will complement the impressive conference, event and hospitality facilities already on-site and offers 150-bedrooms, 85 of which are pitch-facing with balconies.

This year Emirates Old Trafford will once again play host to some of the biggest acts from the music industry in 2017 – with the Courteeners the headline act on May 27.

Daniel Gidney, chief executive, said: “Emirates Old Trafford is continually attracting new conference and events business and global brand names and this is testament to the venue’s capabilities, location and excellent transport links. With the new completion of our four star 150-bedroom Hilton Garden Inn which opens this summer, Emirates Old Trafford will boast a bespoke conferencing and events solution for national and international event organisers.

"Our dramatic column-free, turnkey conference venue ‘The Point’ which can host up to 1,200 delegates, is filled with natural daylight and has fantastic views of the cricket pitch and Pennines and this venue linked directly to a brand new hotel means we can offer a unique proposition which caters for every event organisers needs.”
