A NEW direct service from Manchester Airport to Houston, Texas begins on Sunday, October 30.
The new service will be operated five times weekly non stop to the “space” capital of the world. This is the first time Singapore Airlines has offered a direct service from anywhere in the UK to the USA..
Nicknamed the 'space city', Houston has NASA headquarters located there and is the fourth largest USA city with lots of industries based there.
Ken Garrity, Altrincham travel agent, says that with this being a non stop flight it will appeal to business people who now do not need to change planes en route and will also save time, and for those people who wish to visit Texas and the southwest USA it will get them direct to their destination faster.
At the same time Singapore Airlines will be offering a non stop service five times weekly from Manchester to Singapore with connections to Asia, Australia and New Zealand replacing the one stop service at present.
Singapore Airlines together with VISIT HOUSTON Tourism and Manchester Airport recently held an event in Manchester with 100 specially chosen agents to promote the new service.
