THE Trafford Partnership is making £20,000 available to residents who have ideas on how to make their neighbourhood safer.
Proposals could include starting a Homewatch scheme, holding an event that brings the community together, or providing extra funding for an existing scheme.
To be in with a chance of being awarded a grant, applicants need to outline their idea in 300 words or less on the partnership’s website or complete and return one of the ‘Make a Difference’ postcards distributed across Trafford.
Grants of up to £500 are available to successful applicants, with the possibility of additional financial support.
Councillor John Lamb, executive member for Communities and Partnerships, said: “Our community funding events last year highlighted what a friendly place Trafford is.
“I am sure this money will help us build on the existing strong community spirit in place. We will consider any ideas that can make a difference across neighbourhoods, and make our neighbourhoods feel safer.”
All applicants will be invited to a Networking Event on Tuesday March 29 between 6-8 pm.
The closing date for applications is Thursday March 24.
