A CORONATION Street family was in Sale this week for a church ceremony - but fans of TV’s longest running soap will have to wait six weeks to discover how it went.
Stars of the show descended on picturesque St Martin’s Church in Ashton on Mersey for the christening of teenage couple Katy Armstrong and Chesney Brown’s baby, Joseph.
Messenger snapped the action being filmed at the Church Lane church on Tuesday.
Spotted in the churchyard were Katy’s sister, Izzy, and her boyfriend, Gary - actors Cherylee Houston and Mikey North - along with Izzy’s dad, Owen (Ian Puleston-Davies) and Gary’s mum, Anna, (Debbie Rush), who are also a couple in the soap.
The scenes will be shown in mid August.
In March 2010, St Martin's’ Church was used for the funeral of Blanche, the TV mother mother of Deirdre Barlow.
