STAFF from Trafford Council picked up paintbrushes as part of a project to spruce up a community building in Partington.

Partington Community Hall received the makeover as one of the final events on the Trafford Partnership’s 100 Days Campaign calendar.

The council’s acting chief executive Theresa Grant and members of the transformation and resources directorate painted railings and cleared rubbish and litter.

Staff from environment and transport also got involved by laying a new surface around the facility, located on the corner of Warburton Lane and Wood Lane.

Trafford Town Hall developers Shepherd amd Adana Construction cleared moss from outside the building and supplied paint, tools and a new sign for the centre.

Ms Grant said: "The 100 Days Campaign has proven that community spirit in Trafford is alive and well and, as council staff, we were determined to do our bit to reinforce our commitment to communities in the borough.

“All the staff who took part in this project should be very proud of what they have achieved. By giving just a few hours of their time, they have been able to play a small part in making a big difference to users of Partington Community Hall.”
