A STRETFORD teenager who wowed judges with her singing in a competition at the Trafford Centre is hoping to win a year’s contract with a talent agency.
Amy Weston, 13, performed four songs by Christina Aguilera, Jessie J, Christina Perri and Taylor Swift in front of a packed crowd on August 6 as part of Best Western’s Britain’s Got Personality competition.
The Altrincham College of Arts pupil has previously auditioned twice for Britain’s Got Talent and hopes to be a Broadway star.
Amy, from Raglan Road, has been singing for four years.
She attends Flixton Acadamy of Performing Arts and has appeared in a number of shows and performances.
“I decided to do this to boost my confidence and get a bit of experience in front of an audience.
“I really want to make something of myself,” she said.
Britain’s Got Personality heats were held in Manchester, Birmingham and Bristol.
Videos of entrants have been posted on hotelswithpersonality.com and people can vote for their favourite singer.
Tim Wade, head of marketing at Best Western, said: “We were blown away by the standard of talent in Manchester.
“The explosion of TV talent shows in recent years has shown that we are a multi-talented nation that, like our hotels, is full of personality.”
Caroline Aikman, marketing manager at the Trafford Centre added: “Britain’s Got Personality was a fantastic event to host at the Trafford Centre.
“Manchester certainly did us proud showing off true talent throughout the day. The Orient was packed full of onlookers who really enjoyed the show.”
