TRAFFORD is celebrating 'outstanding' GCSE results.
The pass rate in the borough for one or more A* to G grades has risen to 99.9 per cent, with almost all pupils leaving with at least one GCSE.
91 per cent of pupils achieved five or more A* to C grades and 71 per cent managed to get five or more A* to C including English and Maths.
Executive Councillor John Holden said: “These outstanding GCSE results, following on from last week’s amazing A Level results have been achieved through the hard work and commitment of students, headteachers, teaching and other school staff, governors and parents.
“Trafford is only able to remain among the country’s best thanks to the determination shown by students and I applaud and congratulate them all.
“They should be extremely proud of their achievements.”
