A FLIXTON man with a terminal syndrome has come home from hospital - thanks to the Urmston community.

Scott Murphy, 22, who suffers from a rare and life-threatening condition, came home to a specially adapted room at his Melton Road home on Friday, June 3.

Last week, his parents Margaret and George told Messenger that thanking the people who had helped create the room for Scott just wasn’t enough.

“It means everything to us. All I wanted was for him to come home for whatever time we have left,” Margaret said.

Local businesses and Scott’s neighbours, friends and colleagues at Trafford Park’s Asda have pitched in to create the room, donating time, money and equipment.

Gill Ayriss, personnel clerk at Asda, said she had been amazed at how many people had wanted to help Scott.

She said colleagues at Asda had held numerous fundraisers and would continue to do so to make Scott’s life “a little easier”.
