THE head gardener at Dunham Massey says visitors to the park’s winter garden are in for a treat.

The seven acre garden - the largest of its kind in the UK - opened in 2009.

In addition to 12,000 single and double headed snowdrops planted originally, Dunham’s gardening team planted a further 25,000 bulbs last year, ensuring a spectacular flowering in the next few weeks.

Head gardener Damian Harris said:.

“Between now and the end of April is really one of the best times to visit the winter garden.”

The winter garden is open daily from 11am. Dunham Massey mansion opens for the new season on February 26. For more details go to www.nationaltrust.org.uk/dunhammassey or call 0161 941 1025.
