THE RAF's famous war time bomber, the Avro Lancaster, will be in the skies over Manchester this Sunday, May 16.
The flypast, first over Manchester Airport's viewing park at 4.25pm, and then over Barton Dock Road at Trafford Park five minutes later - where the aircraft were assembled - is part of the AVRO centenary celebrations.
When it was set up on January 1, 1910, AVRO - the name a play on the company's founding father's name, Sir Alliott Verdon Roe - was the first company ever set up to design and build aircraft.
