There are a few factors that you need to take in to account when looking to lose weight.
Calorie Intake Vs Calorie Outtake
When on a diet you need to ensure that your calorie intake is less than your calorie outtake. I recommend that you reduce the amount of calories you currently consume by 500 calories. However you do need to look at how active your lifestyle is.
How often you are eating?
You need to ensure you are eating regularly to keep your metabolism high. Try eating 4-5 small meals throughout the day rather than 3 big meals. This will also help eliminate snacking.
Activity Levels
Look at your activity levels. You will probably find that if you start exercising you will begin to lose weight. Start with walking, swimming or cycling a couple of times per week. Increasing your activity levels uses calories which will help your calorie outtake be more than your calorie intake.
Quality of foods
Make lifestyle changes. Try to eat more healthy foods as you will be able to consume more of these than you would of unhealthy foods as the calories will be lower. This means you will be fuller from your foods rather than snacking on chocolate and consuming 300+ calories on a snack.
Hormone Levels
If you are post menopausal you may find it will be harder to lose weight. Go to your local GP to get some tests done to see how your hormone levels are.
