I WOULD like to warn all decent people who recycle that under the Environ-mental Protection Act of 1990 a person is guilty of a £50 offence (fine) if he leaves any environmentally friendly recycling waste on a recycling point bin, which is left in the open air and leaves it.

I was fined £50 for leaving on top of a full bin, environmentally friendly cardboard. There are no signs stating this anywhere.

I want to warn all law abiding environmentally friendly people, leave your waste recycling on top of a recycling bin in the open air you will be fined as I was.

Be warned. It certainly has made me think twice to recycle if the bins are full. I am sure a lot of people do not realise this.

I hope this makes people aware and stops a £50 fine. Nowhere are there warning signs at recycling points. I know they do not accept cardboard but there are biodegradable cardboard products now as mine was, but not acceptable to Trafford.
