An appeal has been launched to help trace a car used by a gang of four who burgled a petrol station in Timperley. The vehicle a black Audi A3 - with the registration FY05 OYX - pulled onto the forecourt of the Ringway Service Station, on Stockport Road, on November 3, at about 1.25am.

Three of the men got out of the car and forced open the shutters on the shop front. They used a brick to smash the window in the front door and got inside the shop.

They made their way to the cigarette counter where they stole a large amount of cigarettes, cigars and tobacco before driving off in the direction of Wythenshawe.

The car was reported stolen from a house in Compstall in Stockport on October 30.
