A take-away delivery driver suffered burns to his hands when his car was set alight in Urmston.
The 53-year-old man had parked his car on Manor Park, off Manor Avenue, on Sunday, at about 8pm to deliver some food to a nearby address.
He left his car unlocked and when he returned he found a white box alight on the passenger seat. The man opened the door to his white Ford Mondeo and tried to remove the box.
But seat had already set alight and when the door opened the fire quickly grew and the whole car soon became engulfed.
Firefighters extinguished the blaze that also caused damage to two cars parked either side of the Mondeo and a window on a property near the vehicle. The man has been discharged from hospital.
