FURTHER to government proposals regarding the use of cycles as opposed to motor vehicles to get from A to B, and in particular in areas of high traffic concentrations, I should like to comment as follows.
As one of the many cyclists who travel into Trafford Park each morning, 'taking our lives in our hands' especially via Radcliffe Road, I ask, where are the cycle lanes? At the moment there is only one alternative and that is to cycle on the pavement, or is it going to take one or two fatalities to make people think that it might be a good idea to incorporate a cycles only lane during the total reconstruction of the area. Too late was the cry!
