I WONDER if we will ever learn the lessons of history!

Two weeks ago our local MPs voted for one of the most Draconian acts ever to go through Parliament - namely the Anti-Terrorism Act.

There was no debate and no analysis! Just push a button and its through.

I note that Graham Brady had the courage to vote against this bad piece of legislation and I congratulate him for having the courage of his convictions.

When the innocent Guilford Four and Birmingham Six were wrongly convicted by incompetent policing and bad law it meant that the guilty were still out and about and able to commit further outrages!

Did Hughes or Goggins never consider this, I wonder? What they will say to the next persons wrongly convicted and to the people killed or injured because of there acquiescence to knee-jerk politics!

When you substitute evidence for a policeman's instinct only injustice can follow.

At the last election we seem to have elected Androids - push a button and we vote as instructed What a way to run a country!

Worried Democrat, Sale (name and address suppled).
