TRAFFORD MV finally came good in this North Lancs/Cumbria League clash against Furness.

MV started strongly and built up an early domination from the kick off.

Within 10 minutes the writing was on the wall as MV stormed into a 19-0 lead.

Leading the way in the fray was prop John Bailey who grabbed a brace of tries.

The Furness line was crossed at frequent intervals as constant MV pressure developed into a 51-0 half time lead.

A relaxed start to the second half saw Furness hold MV at bay for 15 minutes but then prop Andy Pearson burst through to open MV's second half account with blockbusting try.

A much improved performance and tries from Levett 2, Hyde 3, Bailey 2, Kevan 2, Lambert, Peel Hodgson, Toothill Shay and Pearson together with Hydes goal kicking contributed to a heartwarming 86-7 victory.

Furnesses try came in the dying minutes of the game as a small consolation on the long journey home.

Next weeks game, away at Ormskirk, will be a much stiffer test and Trafford MV will need to put much more committment and concentration into their performance to get a result.

The 2nd XV are having a good spell of results at the moment and their latest a 19-20 away win at Oldham was a cracking one.

The 3rdXV disappointment against Toc H losing 48-12 and the 4th XV had a good game against Lymm despite losing 26-22.
