"LEAVE the trees standing", said the majority when Urmston precinct had a facelift. Unfortunately, the pleas of that same public were ignored when it came to the felling of trees that lined the perimeter of the cricket ground on Moorside Road. Next in line for the chop are healthy, mature trees on Winchester Road. A road already sadly depleted of foliage.

The trees and grass verges are what give Davyhulme and district it's identity.

There are enough drab and dreary places void of greenery without adding Davyhulme to the list. When all the trees have gone, will the grass verges then be tarmaced to accommodate off the road car parking?
