IN A very physical match against Acton, Sale Ladies Hockey Club proved themselves more than worthy winners in this weeks game, with good open play from their forward line up.

Last weeks hat-trick-hero, Carol Savage, opened the scoring for Sale with fine stick work inside the D.

The second goal came from a good concise short corner strike from Fiona Vaughan-Thomas, with Savage providing a superb cross to enable Claire Jordan to notch up the third just before half time.

Sale worked hard in the second half and Louise Rowley, fighting to keep the ball from going off the back line, managed to sweep it round and into the back of the net.

Sue Laister completed the scoring, and Sale's defence once again proved enough to deny Acton any consolation of a goal.

Sale are looking for promotion this season and only have to keep playing like this to secure it.
