The 1stXI entertained Deane & Derby in a match that saw Flixton amass 236/6, before the declaration came.

The entire middle contributed well - the highlights being rapid half centuries from Mark Condliffe (52), and 53 from an unbeaten Andy Gill.

The Deane & Derby batsmen had no answer to the seam and swing opening attack of Paul Hanrahan and Brett McAleese.

It was left to spin twins Craig Hudson and Andy Gill to seal victory for the home side in the last over.

The 2ndXI travelled to Wythenshawe, and they were invited to bat first on a very difficult wicket.

Even after Keen departed for 26, brother Rob (29) kept things moving

Monk eventually departed for 18, but following useful contributions from George De'Ath (16) and Phil Southall (12) late in the innings, Flixton lost on 129/7.

With the help of two awesome stumpings from Monk and two direct run-outs from John Power and Mike King Flixton's fielding cause was helped even more.

Ray Millward finished with 4/26, supported by some very tight bowling from an injured George De' Ath (17-6-26-1).
