TRAFFORD people are being urged to be on the look out for uninvited guests - and their vigilance could save lives.

The holiday season is upon us and Petline organiser Chris Butterworth is urging locals to check their houses and out buildings to make sure a cat isn't hiding in there.

Moggies can survive for up to two weeks without food or water but this can be drastically reduced if a cat is locked in a particularly warm place, such as a shed.

Anyone who discovers a four legged lodger should let it go or ring the owner if their contact details are displayed on the animal's identity disc.

"Don't forget if you're holding keys for neighbours on holiday keep checking their premises aswell," says Chris.

On a different note, 11 cats have been re-united with their relieved owners.
