THE TIMPERLEY family and friends of a little girl who lost her fight with cancer have raised £3,000 for the North Manchester Children’s Hospital in her memory.
Amy Allen’s mother, Claire, and brother and sister, Jack aged 14, and Molly, nine, ran the Children’s Cancer Run alongside family friend, Sarah Macdonald, and her two children, Samantha, aged 13, and Ben, 10, under the name ‘Amy’s Angels and Heroes’ in May.
Eleven-year-old Amy received pioneering treatment at North Manchester Children’s Hospital after being diagnosed with a brain tumour five years ago but died last September.
Amy Allen’s mother, Claire said: “We surpassed our expectations and would like to say a special thank you to Navigation School, Antz in your Pants, Theo’s Chip Shop in Timperley and Shampooch Dog Grooming Parlour who all kindly had collection buckets on our behalf and raised an amazing £1,500 between them.”
Amy’s cousin Jess Rhodes is doing a 10,000ft tandem parachute jump in her honour in October and the money raised is going to the Samantha Dixon Brain Tumour Trust.
