MEMBERS from Altrincham Kersal Rugby Club in Timpeley conquered Mount Snowdon for charity.
Five members of the club, led by Peter Ford, climbed the mountain to the summit and back again to raise funds for The Back Up Trust, a charity dealing with those affected by spinal injuries.
Peter has been involved with the charity for 20 years.
In a race between 12 teams, where the only rule was one person must be in a wheelchair, Peter’s team, made up of Dominic Turnelty, Martin Lehwald, Mike Wildgoose and Chris Barlow, finished a respectable fifth place and raised £4000 for the charity. The Back Up Trust is very close to Chris’ heart, after a neck injury rendered him unable to play rugby.
He now devotes his time to coaching in the South Trafford area. His company, Active Kids, is holding a summer camp at the Kersal on August 10-14 for children aged 5-12.
