TRAFFORD Council’s leader elect, Cllr Matt Colledge, said: “There is so much to celebrate in Trafford. We can boast excellent schools, beautiful parks and world-famous sports facilities, plus the largest industrial park in Europe, Trafford Park, making the borough a great place to live, learn, work and relax.

“Residents still benefit from paying one of the lowest council taxes in the country, we’ve been voted one of the best places in the UK to raise a family, our exam results are outstanding, we’ve got some of the best recyclers in Greater Manchester, and crime continues to fall.

“Against this backdrop are our residents, the real champions of Trafford. I’m proud to live in an area where we see such community spirit displayed week in week out. Whether it be fundraising for new facilities or pulling together to carry out clean-up activities, local people are always willing to work in partnership with the council and other organisations to make Trafford the best it can be.

“Local newspapers have a key role to play in celebrating achievements like this and I think the Toast of Trafford campaign is a great way to do so.”
