A company based in Trafford which looks to support people out of work is hailing the success of a charity car wash in the borough.

Genuine Futures offers programmes and support to help people in communities who are unemployed to get the skills they need to get into the work force.

The company has recently held two charity car wash events in Manchester, including one in Old Trafford, as they look to provide opportunities for young people.

The car washes took place at BizSpace Old Trafford and BizSpace Newton Heath are said to have seen positive feedback and enthusiasm from participants, businesses and the local community.

Genuine Futures' next steps are to try and engage with relevant employers to create valuable connections and provide more opportunities for our young people.

The company is also working to transform this initiative into a more sustainable enterprise providing vehicle cleaning services which will create employment opportunities for our young people.

Centre manager at BizSpace Old Trafford, Olivia Yafai, said it was "amazing" to host Genuine Futures and that they had created "a nice atmosphere" on the site.

Local businessman Gerard Egbuje of Beechcrown Group has thrown his support behind the charity car washes, saying: “This is a great opportunity - young people are definitely the future of the country and the future of  business and I think  we need to support them a lot more they tend to get ignored.”

Genuine Futures are facilitating further charity car wash events across the North West with dates confirmed for Blackpool and Oldham this month.

The company said the car washing initiative exemplifies their commitment to creating positive social impact raise our awareness whist providing meaningful opportunities for the next generation.
