A trio of men were arrested following a break-in at a commercial building in Stretford.

Police attended the commercial building on Chester Road in the early hours of today.

They pursued a Ford Transit van from the scene and, once it was stopped, a number of big boxes containing vapes were seized from the vehicle.

A trio of men between the ages of 18 and 24 were arrested on suspicion of attempted burglary. They were taken into custody to be interviewed.

Chief Inspector Paul Bray, of GMP's Specialist Operations, said: "This is a snapshot of one night in the region where we are going after those causing the most harm to our communities.

"Our focus remains on catching those committing crime every day, and we will continue to work to bring offenders to justice, but I would ask residents to help us to help them by following our crime prevention advice so we can help you to keep you and your property safe.

"Don't give burglars a window of opportunity, always close windows whilst you are out, and always lock doors when inside your home or whilst you are out even if for a short time."

Anyone with information about a crime can contact police on 101 or the LiveChat on gmp.police.uk.
