JD Sports said its new store is set to be bigger and better than its old store in the town centre when it opens this weekend at Altrincham Retail Park.

The retailer of casualwear and sportswear completes its move from George Street to the retail park on George Richards Way today (November 25).

JD Sports said the new store constitutes an increase of almost 150 per cent in shopping space. It aim to tempt customers away from next-door neighbour Sports Direct with a range of big brands including Adidas, Nike, North Face and Under Armour.

Over this weekend, Black Friday weekend, there is 50 per cent off some of these brands as well as free customisation for footwear and a 'JD Ballnado' game with a chance to win a £50 voucher.

James Air, Head of Group Acquisitions at JD Sports, said: "I am so pleased we secured this unit on Altrincham Retail Park which is popular with customers in the area.

"The store is larger than our store in the town centre and it is ready to go with many more of our best brands in time for Black Friday weekend and Christmas Shopping."
