A salon crowned 'Hairdressers of the Year' celebrated 40 years in the business with an event at its site in Urmston.

The team at The HairBank invited their family and their friends, as well as customers, to the event on Station Road.

Set up by Laura Kulik 40 years ago, but taken on by daughter Ria Kulik recently, the salon was crowned 'North Western Hairdressers of the Year' at The British Hairdressing Awards last year and it is up for the title at these awards this year.

Ria Kulik is making a name for herself away from the town with appearances backstage at shoots and shows including singing show The Voice UK.

Claire Ball, a stylist at The HairBank, received recognition for 25 years of service at the event on Station Road too.

Laura said: "It was such a joy to be surrounded by family and friends who have been part of our journey throughout the last 40 years.

"The emotions were high, with a few tears around the room, but we felt the love and it was a proud day for all of us."

Ria said: "It is our cherished clients who make our 40th anniversary so special. Their loyalty and support have been invaluable, and we will forever cherish the memories created together.

"We look forward to many more years of continuing to build memories together."
