A hospice that provides a range of community services to patients in Trafford has raised more than £30,000 at its annual golf day event.

St Ann’s Hospice raised £30,045 at its Dunham Forest Golf & Country Club day last month which saw teams of corporate supporters and friends of the hospice brave the rain to compete for a trophy.

This year a group from Domis Construction, was crowned the winning team and awarded the prize.

The day also included a raffle, which gave participants the opportunity to win a selection of luxury prizes, and an evening auction ran by celebrity auctioneer, Adam Partridge.

Rachel McMillan, chief executive of St Ann’s Hospice said: “We are thrilled that so many teams joined us for our annual golf day.

“We had a real mix of teams taking part from all sorts of local businesses and other individuals and groups of supporters too. Some of those who came along have been supporting the golf day for many years, and others were first time entrants.

“We’re so grateful to everyone who came along, and also to our headline sponsor Sunil Ruia, Trustee for the Bhim Ruia Foundation for his amazing support in sponsoring this event again.”

St Ann’s Hospice has to raise around £20,000 a day to keep its services running. Services including care for patients at their homes through the Hospice at Home service which is available in Trafford.
