Eight fire engines from across Greater Manchester and Cheshire have attended a huge fire at a barn in Trafford.
At 7.15pm yesterday (Saturday) fire crews were called to reports of a blaze at a barn on Park Road, Warburton.
The fire teams were joined by a technical response unit from Leigh, high volume pumps from Bolton and Stretford, and a command support unit from Atherton.
The barn at the centre of the blaze contained a large quantity of kerosene, fertiliser and hay.
A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service (GMFRS) said: “At 7.15pm on Saturday (April 8), GMFRS crews were called to reports of a fire at a barn on Park Road, Warburton in Trafford.
“Eight fire engines from across Greater Manchester and Cheshire, as well as a technical response unit from Leigh, high volume pumps Bolton and Stretford, a command support unit from Atherton and a water bowser from Ellesmere Port attended the incident.
“The fire involved a barn which contained a large quantity of kerosene, fertiliser, and hay.
“Firefighters used hose reels and jets to extinguish the fire.
“Fire crews remain at the scene making the area safe.”
