Altrincham received a nod from stars Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney before this weekend's 'Phil Parkinson' derby.

The Robins welcome the Red Dragons to the J Davidson this afternoon in a rematch of last month's tie in the FA Trophy.

In reference to this tie, which Altrincham won on penalties, Reynolds and McElhenney released a video on social media.

Reynolds said the disappointment on the face of the manager of Wrexham, also called Phil Parkinson, was 'more than I can bear'.

The video on social media starts: "Previously, on Altrincham vs Wrexham, we were knocked out of the FA Trophy on penalties."

And McElhenney takes over: "And the look of disappointment on manager Phil Parkinson's face was... understandable."

Reynolds continues: Although Altrincham sit in the middle of the table, they're no pushovers. We'll have to stay focused because Phil's disappointment face is honestly more than I can bear."

And McElhenney concludes: "Here's hoping for an away win and smiles all around."

The Robins also attracted investment from across the pond last month when an agreement was reached with Valcor Ventures for the group from Texas, USA to receive a stake in the club and for its director Alberto Valdes to receive a seat on the board.

The investment is a first for Valcor Ventures, which is new to the realm of sport, with Mr Valdes's background being as the chief executive and president at Texas's Hill Country Foodworks.
