Three entries from Timperley were recognized for their outstanding efforts in this year's North West in Bloom 2007, both Friends of Quarry Bank community garden project and Conniston Walk took home their award for Outstanding, carrying a pass rate of over 85% for the Small Neighbourhood Award, with Broomwood picking up an Improvement award in the same category. This was broken down into three awards, Improvement, Merit and Outstanding.
Judging took place in July and the award was announced and presented at Manchester Town hall 18th October 2007 and was presented by TV personality Fred Talbot. Quarry Bank gardens are located in Timperley with the junction of Marsland Road and Clifford Avenue; Conniston walk can be located in the Broomwood Estate. Both gardens have been created by the community for the community and are a credit for all those involved, plus also Timperley. Broomwood picked up their improvement award which covered Broomwood Woods and Brooks Drive.
