SALE disability charity Stockdales raised £12,500 at its annual fundraising day at Sale Golf Club.

The event was sponsored by Denton-based company, E-Foods Ltd and the golf competition was won by the Mather’s Men team.

Fifteen teams took to the course in sweltering conditions to play against each other in the charity’s 7th annual golf day competition. They also pitted their putting skills against the pros in a special 'Beat the Pro' round.

After a few well-deserved drinks afterwards, people enjoyed an evening of entertainment from Britain’s Got Talent finalist, Les Gibson.

He wowed the audience with his amazing impressions of celebrities, politicians and those from the sporting world.

A raffle and auction were also held to help boost the charity’s fundraising efforts.

Fundraising manager, Natalie James said: “Well done to everyone involved for their efforts on what was an exceptionally hot day.

”We’re so pleased with the result and the generosity of everyone involved. This is a fantastic amount to raise and it will go a long way to helping our work with local people with learning disabilities and life-limiting conditions.

"I'd like to give a massive thanks to E-Foods Ltd, who sponsored the event again this year. Also a big congratulations to Mather’s Men for winning the competition. Our thanks also goes to everyone who helped to organise the event, as well as Sale Golf Club, our supporters and everyone who donated raffle and auction prizes.”

Stockdales supports children and adults with learning disabilities throughout Trafford and Manchester.
