A YEAR 3 pupil from Forest Preparatory School has won a national colouring competition for school children.

Eva Donohue, aged 7, was selected as the winner from more than 5,000 entrants in a competition organised by STEADTLER for World Colouring Day 2017.

The theme for the competition was 'bright future' where pupils had to portray their futures through art and imagination.

Eva coloured the worksheet, and said that in the future she would like to be an artist.

She won STAEDTLER stationary for herself and £250 worth of products for the school.

The school also won an art workshop with British artist and caricaturist Picasso Griffiths where he showed the children how to sketch.

Mrs Eley, Year 3 teacher at Forest Preparatory School, said: “Picasso was brilliant with the children and they created some lovely pieces of work. We all learned so much and had a lot of fun as well. Eva and the school were also given a selection of art materials which will be put to very good use. It was a very enjoyable and worthwhile experience.”

Lisa James, education marketing executive, STAEDTLER UK said: “Picasso and I thoroughly enjoyed the art workshop at Forest Preparatory School. The children were so engaged and enthusiastic, taking on board all the hints and tips provided during the session. They produced outstandingly detailed illustrations and asked thought provoking questions throughout.”

World Kids Colouring Day is an annual competition, through STAEDTLER Teachers’ Club UK. It is a free online platform for primary school teachers to find and access free product samples, curriculum-linked teaching resources and fun competitions to keep pupils busy.
