FIREFIHTERS were called to a house in Sale after a tumble dryer caught fire.
Three fire engines from Altrincham, Salford and Wythenshawe attended the fire on Washway road at 7pm on September 21.
On arrival, firefighters used one hose reel and one hearth kit to extinguish the fire.
Crews were in attendance for one hour.
To stay safe when using your tumble dryer, the fire service recommend to follow the below points:
Lint is removed after every load of clothes is dried.
You do not cover the vent or any other opening.
You sweep or vacuum the areas around the dryer regularly to prevent fluff build up.
Do not use tumble dryers while sleeping or away from home.
