TRAFFORD UK Independence Party (UKIP) has announced its candidates for the upcoming General Election.

Andrew Beaumont is standing as the UKIP candidate for the Stretford and Urmston seat.

Mr Beaumont said he will be campaigning on issues affecting the environment and social housing.

'' I am against greenspace development. Past generations protected it for us and it is our duty to protect it for the future. Only brownfield sites must be developed.” he said.

"I believe in more social housing for those with local connections, keeping families and communities together. Additionally this will protect people, as secure tenancies will take away the instability of private rented properties, which will have a direct knock-on effect on reducing the unnecessary homeless crisis.''

The party haS also selected its candidate for the Wythenshawe and Sale East seat, Mike Bayley-Sanderson.

Mr Bayley-Sanderson will be campaigning on Brexit and highlighting the positives that will come from completely withdrawing from the European Union.

Mr Bayley-Sanderson said: '' As a campaigner for the leave vote I want to make sure people get the Brexit they voted for. I believe that the Brexit deal should be negotiated to ensure that the people who voted for it benefit from it. I do not want to see some watered down version that our politicians hope to get away with.''

The party has opted not to put a candidate in place for the Altrincham and Sale West seat.
