ALTRINCHAM festival is still on the lookout for its 2017 Queen and Rose Bud – but there are other ways to get involved in the momentous event.

This year is the 40th anniversary of Altrincham Festival, which was originally set up to celebrate the Queen’s silver jubilee in 1977.

To mark its Ruby year, the festival is going to be bigger and better, with a brand new addition called The Altrincham Fringe.

The Fringe is planning a series of musical events that will take place during the month of June 2017 in the run up to The Altrincham Festival.

This will consist of a series of live concerts throughout the borough at a variety of venues.

All proceeds will go towards generating funds for the Altrincham Festival.

As well as parade favourites, festival organisers are looking for people who have nostalgic stories about the festival or old photos from previous years.

These will be used for an anniversary exhibition. Anyone who would like to get involved the festival or has any memories to share, contact Neil Taylor on 0161 980 5473 or visit yourfestival.org.uk for more information.
