TRAFFORD stargazers had their eyes fixed to the skies last night to catch a glimpse of the out-of-this-world ‘super beaver moon’.
On Monday night, the moon came closer to Earth than at any point in nearly 70 years.
This phenomenon is called a ‘beaver moon’, named by colonial Americans as a reminder to set beaver traps.
And the November lunar cycle orbited closer to the Earth than it had in decades last night, making the moon look enormous and luminous.
Yvonne Clark captured this stunning snap of the Supermoon in the skies above Timperley last night.
She said: “I was stood out in the cold, kneeling in the mud, waiting for a break in the clouds, and alas she appeared before my very eyes. The Supermoon!”
Susan, managed to get a take a photo of the Supermoon, despite cludy skies.
She said: "Just caught a quick glimpse as it peeped out from behind the many clouds. Taken from my back garden in Urmston."
