GE Power has planted the seeds of success by donating £500 towards Partington Parish Council’s entry for this year’s RHS Tatton Park Flower Show.
The cheque was presented to Partington parish councillor James Clare and Julie Vernon from Partington.
Cllr Clare said: “We have had great success with our entries for the Flower Bed Competition and have won two silver and two gold medals in the past few years.
"This year our theme is 'Times a Changin'. We are really grateful to GE Power for giving us this boost to our funds.”
Julie Vernon, from Partington, said: “It takes us a couple of days beforehand to set up the display, with everybody working round the clock and dealing with last minute alterations. It is very much a community effort and we are pleased that GE Power was able to assist us.”
Rainer Lueoend, project manager, GE Power said “We’re delighted to support Cllr Clare and his team for their entry into this year’s Flower Show. We wish them the best of luck in the competition and look forward to visiting the show to see their entry at first hand.”
The RHS Tatton Park Flower Show was first held in 1999 and this year takes place on July 20-24, when more than 80,000 visitors are expected to attend.
