TRAFFORD Council is celebrating following the inclusion of Greater Manchester on Rockefeller Foundation’s 100 Resilient Cities List.

Greater Manchester joins cities including Washington DC, Belfast and London on the list which helps cities around the world become more resilient to social, economic, and physical challenges.

Leader of Trafford Council, Cllr Sean Anstee, said: “Having Greater Manchester on this list provides support in facing the challenges of the future.

"Already the authorities of Greater Manchester have come together to ensure we are all working to bring investment and improvement to the area. Inclusion on the list is confirmation of these efforts.”

100 Resilient Cities - Pioneered by The Rockefeller Foundation (100RC) 100RC - provides assistance through funding for a chief resilience officer in each of the cities on the list who will lead resilience efforts.

Also provided are resources for drafting a Resilience Strategy, access to private sector, public sector, academic and private sector resilience tools.
