TRAFFORD-based Kellogg’s had a knock-out idea for a team-building exercise at their annual employee conference in Manchester – attempting a world record.
In a bid to incorporate their products whilst encouraging staff members to work as a unit, Kellogg’s came up the idea to attempt the record for ‘most cereal boxes toppled in a domino fashion’.
The record attempt, which took place during the last month’s conference at Manchester University, proved to be a success, with 2,686 packets of their classic cornflake being set up and knocked down by the employees.
Official Guinness World Records adjudicator Pravin Patel was on hand to adjudicate the challenge and confirmed that Kellogg’s set the new title.
Peter Headridge, Kellogg’s VP research, nutrition and technology, said: “I’m very, very proud of the team. We showed great teamwork. And what’s even better is all those cartons went off to our local foodbank.”
January’s attempt was not the first time the cereal giant has utilised the power of record-breaking to enhance their brand.
Kellogg’s Middle East and Africa created the largest cereal box, Kellogg's South Africa made the largest bowl of cereal, and El Desayunote Kellogg's (Mexico) hosted the largest cereal breakfast.
