A MAN was taken to hospital following a house fire in Stretford yesterday afternoon.
Fire crews were called to a report of a fire at a property on Jackson Street at around 12 noon on Monday January 4.
On arrival, firefighters found plumes of black smoke pouring from the first floor window of the home.
The property was searched but everybody inside had managed to escape.
The bedroom, were the fire was contained, was completely destroyed and it is thought that the fire was caused by carelessly discarded smoking material.
One man was taken to hospital for precautionary checks after he inhaled smoke.
